Abstract
Human trafficking remains one of the most pervasive crimes worldwide, affecting millions of individuals, including men, women, and children. Pakistan, serving as both a source and destination country for trafficked persons, has made significant strides in addressing this issue through legislative reforms. This article evaluates the effectiveness of Pakistan’s legal regime in combating human trafficking, with a particular focus on the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, 2018. The study examines law enforcement capabilities, the adequacy of victim protection services, and the effectiveness of the legal framework in terms of international compliance. Drawing on statistical data, case studies, and expert evaluations, the article provides a comprehensive analysis of Pakistan's response to human trafficking, offering actionable recommendations for legal and institutional reforms.
