Abstract

Truck-decoration is a significant art in the world in general and in Pakistan in particular and that is why various researchers from different backgrounds have carried out research on the Pakistani truck art. However, these studies could not systematically classify the various images painted on the trucks in Pakistan. The purpose of the present study was to classify the numerous images painted on the Pakistani trucks. The current research, after deploying qualitative content analysis, found that the numerous images painted on Pakistani trucks can be classified into five categories namely celebrities, animals, birds, sceneries and other means of transportations. The present study also found that these images were made with vibrant color, and contained floral designs, and geometrical patterns.  It is expected that the present study will be helpful in understanding and classifying the various images on the Pakistani trucks.
