Abstract
This research explores the impact of international trade agreements on corporate law reforms in Pakistan, aiming to understand how global trade commitments shape domestic legal frameworks and corporate governance. Utilizing a qualitative research methodology, the study involves a comprehensive review of primary and secondary resources, including legal texts, policy documents, and scholarly articles. The findings reveal that international trade agreements, such as those with the World Trade Organization, bilateral trade partners, and regional trade agreements, have significantly influenced Pakistan's corporate legal landscape. These agreements have catalyzed reforms that enhance transparency, improve corporate governance, and bolster investor protection. The Companies Act 2017, a key legislative development, illustrates the incorporation of international standards into domestic law, showcasing innovative shifts in regulatory practices. The study recommends continued alignment of corporate laws with international standards to promote a competitive business environment and attract foreign investment. It also advocates for strengthening regulatory institutions and increasing business awareness regarding the implications of international trade agreements.
