Legal and Economic Dynamics of Parallel Imports in Developing Countries

Abstract

This paper aims to provide a comparative analysis of the phenomenon of parallel imports in developing countries. Parallel imports refer to the practice of importing genuine products from one market to another without the authorization of the intellectual property rights holder. This paper will explore the economic, legal, and social implications of parallel imports in developing countries. By examining case studies and existing literature, we will highlight the similarities and differences in the challenges faced by developing countries in relation to parallel imports. Furthermore, we will discuss the potential benefits and drawbacks of parallel imports, as well as the policy options available to address this issue. The findings of this study will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of parallel imports on developing countries and inform policy recommendations.
