A phenomenological exploration of criminology Discipline In The Modern Era, A study Of Punjab, Pakistan

Abstract

This study aims at exploring criminology discipline as a phenomenon in the modern era in Pakistan. By applying a qualitative research approach and Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), the researcher has collected the data by making interview guide and by using in-depth interviews with open ended statements. The data has been collected from University of Sargodha, Sargodha and University of Lahore, Lahore, Pakistan. A total number of eleven participants took part in the research; five students, three faculty members, and three  experts. By analyzing the data, this qualitative stage have provided light on the problems that criminology discipline face as a result of globalization in Pakistan. The researcher has given suggestions and recommendations in the end to make criminology an effective discipline in Pakistan, to eradicate crime, and to rehabilitate both the criminals and society in order to promote positivity and basic human rights in society.
