Relationship between Impulsivity and Deviant Behavior among Juveniles Delinquents: Moderating Role of Paranoid Thoughts

Abstract

The aim of the study to investigate relationship among juvenile delinquents impulsivity, paranoid thoughts and deviant behavior. It is hypothesized that there will be a significant positive relationship between impulsivity and deviant behavior among juvenile delinquents. A sample of male and female (N=200) was included in the research. In this study, purposive sampling technique will be used. Data were collected through demographic, Barratt impulsivity scale BIS-15(Spinella, 2007), The revised Green et al., Paranoid Thoughts Scale and Deviant Behavior Variety scale (Bendixon & Olweus, 1999) questionnaire. Correlational analysis were applied to check the significant positive relationship between impulsivity, paranoid thoughts and deviant behavior among juvenile delinquents.  Results highlighted the core believes about deviant behavior and why do juveniles behave in deviant manners. The present research has significant implications in the area of psychology and can be used in the study of deviant behavior including drug addiction, personality traits, and other issues with psychological health among juvenile delinquents.
