Abstract

The present research paper discusses Hamid’s Moth Smoke and unveils colonial practices within the state. The paper aims at exploring socio-economic and political structures which result in class system within a state where the elites exploit commoners financially and segregate them socially. Post-colonial theory has been used as theoretical framework and content analysis technique has been used to analyze the select text. The study concludes that though the country has been liberated from physical colonization of colonizers yet the internal national leaders and so called nationalists have continued the same colonial practices through segregated socio-economic and hegemonic political structure.
