Abstract

The current study is the comparison of coping strategies between single parent adolescent orphans living in orphanages and domestic homes. The Study used Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced Inventory (Carver, 1997) for data collection.. The sample consisted of 314 participants. The findings of the study revealed that coping strategies in single parent adolescents in domestic homes are better than single parent adolescents in orphanage . The findings of the current study would be helpful for psychologists, psychiatrists and mental health workers to design a treatment plan for low self-esteem, socioemotional skills and coping strategies in orphans living in orphanages as well as domestic homes.
