Impact of the Violent Video Game on the Social Behavior of Players: A Study of Young PUBG Players

Abstract
This paper is the investigation of the impact of the social behavior while playing violent games especially PUBG, in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The applied approach on the paper is quantitative data analysis from 200 respondents aged 18 to 30. The key constructs of the study are aggression; social isolation; empathy; impulsivity, and video game addiction. The findings indicate that the frequent use of PUBG increases violence, impulsivity, and misconduct on social behavior. The players of the game have an impact of social isolation, negative empathy and less prosocial behavior. Regression and correlation analysis expressed the result of strong pessimistic thought and impulsivity in video game addicted players; however, there is also a little factor of empathy and social behavior with a very low percentage. These results highlight the need to regulate the game and spread the awareness to the players as there is a complex relationship between player’s emotional stability and social concern to the players of violent video game.
