The article 18 of this law prohibits polygamy and offenders may be subject to a prison sentence of one year and a fine of two hundred and forty thousand franc. Under the code 30 and 31 of this law, oral pronouncement of Talaq is prohibited. Only court can grant a divorce on the basis of: (a) mutual consent of both parties(b) the request of one party without specific grounds(c) abuse or injury. Moreover, in 2017, the Muslim woman was allowed to marry a non-Muslim.
